The pattern is a Built by Wendy for Simplicity: 3964. I like it and have it cut out as a dress, that waiting to be sewn. The print fabric is a Japanese lightweight cotton that I got here. The solid is a Kaffe Fasset shot cotton that I've had forever. I don't know if it's right or wrong, but I love to use shot cottons in garment sewing.
It seems that I have a thing for this color combo. It appears everywhere in my clothes and house. I realized that I matched my lawn couch perfectly.

Ummm, please to tell me what is a shot cotton?
ReplyDeleteYou know this is me, right? I'm trying to make these comments show up as Sensible Seamstress, but the comment gods want my wordpress user name instead.
ReplyDeleteOf course, I know you...here's what I know about shot cotton. Lovely, light and woven with one color in the warp and one in the weft making a color blend beauty extravaganza. I buy Kaffe Fassett shot cotton yards at a time and let it hang out with me until the right project strikes. There is probably more to it than this, but that's my take.
ReplyDeleteUm, I was all impressed by your shirt, but holy cow I looove your lawn couch!
ReplyDeleteLovely top and I like the use of contrast fabrics. I have just bought that pattern and making a dress first from some Rown/Kaffe fassett cotton. His fabrics are gorgeous.
