Wow, my last post was in September. I am a bad blogger, but I have been sewing.
Cherry House: City News quilt top. I have the perfect fabric for the back in my stash. So if things go well, this little quilt will be finished soon. The Kansas City Modern Quilt Guild continues to blow my mind. We have grown by leaps and bounds and there is no end in sight. It has been exciting to be a part of this and I am so happy we were able to have Cherri House to come to KC and speak at our guild. I hate to say that I was not all that familiar with her work prior to her visit, but I am so glad I got the chance to take her workshop at Harpers. She has a great personality and is likable in every way. I learned a lot from her and even worked with black and white fabric, which is something I have steered away from before now.
Wee Wonderfuls: Betsy Pillow. This has got to be the cutest darned thing I've seen. Imagine paper doll, except on a pillow, with a pocket on the back that holds all the felt backed clothes. It is a fun chance to scour through the old scrap piles and use long lost lovely fabrics. Actually, the entire book is completely adorable. Sure, I had a thing for dolls as a child, but even if I hadn't this book would have me wanting to make dolls all day long.
There's more...but I'm saving up for a future post that likely won't happen for another month.. Here's a sneak peak.
