The Bra Class

A few months ago I learned about this lady from Wichita that teaches bra making classes.  Then I found out that the local American Sewing Guild had invited her to come to Kansas City to teach a workshop.  I hesitated at first, but eventually signed up.  Wow, I am so glad I did.  I learned so much and came away with a nice bra and a few new friends.

it fits!

The first night was a fitting session and a lecture.  I was impressed by Ann St. Clair's knowledge of bra's, but also women's health and self-image.  The lecture was followed with a class.  There were two sessions and I attended the Sunday session.  It was a full day of bra making, but it went by fast.  I learned about sewing with tricot, powernet and elastic.  Ann's crew, including Kathy, were so helpful and encouraging.  I appreciated the fact that they kept everyone moving at their own pace (something that is hard to do when teaching sewing classes).  Did I mention door prizes!  I actually won something...a pattern for underwear.

I am excited to be a new member of ASG and look forward to future sewing events with them.

My month has been jam packed with sewing classes.  Thanks to all who have signed up to take a class from me.  Friday and Sunday I go back to being the student.  It's the bra class...stay tuned.
